with a ring of Blades +2 that's 412 which then becomes 462 with Flynn's.īone scythe AR-401 at 50 Strength/20 dexterity Now lets add Flynn's ring-438 AR.Ī 50/40 Sunsword at +10 is 175 + the scaling bonus of 187=362. This is with a Strength of 50 and dexterity of 20.Ī 50/40 Longsword at +10 is 225 + the scaling bonus of 113=338. Now take into account my build only has 14 VIT, throw on a Flynn's Ring, now your AR is 501. Now add the additional 50 damage from the Ring of Blades +2- 451 AR. TL DR: The Reaper Class is a great class when used properly, most people condemn it because of the sweet spot but that sweet spot goes around all shieldsīone scythe damage at +5=280 + Scaling bonus of 121=401 (that's already more than a regular straight sword at 40/40 stats). There are so much more to the reaper class then people think, they are great weapons when used properly and there is also a reaper class weapon for you strength fanatics (takes 20 dex but don't tell anyone)
Playing this style forces a defensive type of play which in the end means you'll be playing a little smarter and taking advantage of the counters your enemies give you. Also spamming R1/RT WILL get you backstabbed. That combined with it's slower swing speed means you need to pick the right moments to strike. It doesn't have to be a strong attack either (except for the Silverblack Sickle) any attack with a reaper class weapon at proper spacing goes completely around shields doing only slightly less damage.ĭefensive Conditioning- I'll explain what that means, it's really hard to play too aggressive with a reaper class weapon as the have that sweet spot. Shield Piercing- ALL Reaper class weapons can bypass shields and tend to do a lot more damage through shields then other weapons like the shotel and estoc. I'm sure there are other cons based on each specific Reaper, but the sweet spot is the one people use to judge the weapon class as a whole so I used it as an example. Reapers are like Halberds, they both have sweet spots and need proper distancing, although the distancing for reaper class weapons is a little trickier. Sweet Spot- This is a con because it means to get the proper damage out of your reaper class weapon the blade must hit your target, can't really complain about that though as it's much more realistic than getting hit with the wood and losing a chunk of health right? Most people pick up a reaper class weapon for the first time and try to use it too close to their target, then they are surprised it does subpar damage. Why you ask? for several reasons but we'll start with the con that most people encounter then automatically assume that the whole class of weapons suck. Here's the truth about the reaper class though, they are amongst the deadliest weapons in game. I'm seeing this everywhere, when the discussion on weapons comes around to the reaper class I just see endless comments on how they suck, they do crappy damage and have bad movesets.
